I’m assuming you mean network bandwidth. If you’re looking for a n=
ice and sophisticated gui-based tool with reports, etc., then I apologize I=
don’t know of any.
I usually just use ftp with a large file to meas=
ure network speed. If you don’t have a large file at hand, just create one =
using the dd command:
dd if=3D/dev/zero of=3Dlargefile bs=3D10M coun=
t=3D10 &nb=
sp; # This will create a 100M file
And when =
you use it with FTP, it should tell you how fast it’s being transferred.

Hi Gurus,
On a single RHEL 5 Server(Apache), I woul=
d like to measure the bandwidth available.
It is purely for a capa=
city planning purpose. Looking for a opensource tool to meet
the purpose=
.
Kindly share your thoughts.
Thanks in advance
Jose
